Hello, my name is Brinn Thorsten, and I am the proud co-owner of The Backdrop along with my husband, Richard.

Three years ago, my daughter and her friends visited a selfie studio to celebrate her birthday. I walked into the studio thinking it was just “for kids”, but I was quickly proven wrong. That day I saw grandparents, couples, teens, and families all laughing, snapping photos, and enjoying the experience. And, it hit me—photos aren’t just for perfect poses, they’re for capturing fun in the moment.

That experience sparked the idea for our own selfie studio, filled with whimsical backdrops where anyone could let loose and take photos their way. I loved every second of it. But as life got busier with school events, sports, and family commitments, I realized I couldn’t give the studio the time it deserved. So, we pivoted.

Now, we bring the fun to you! With mobile selfie setups and digital photo booth services, we get to help people celebrate everywhere—weddings, fundraisers, work parties, birthdays—you name it. It’s the perfect balance: more time with my family, while still fueling my creativity and helping others add joy to their events.

Not everyone loves being in front of the camera—but when the atmosphere is lighthearted and fun, even the most camera-shy guests end up laughing and joining in. That’s what I love most about what we do: creating spaces where people forget about perfect pictures and just enjoy the moment.
